Pros

Fantastic co workers and decent benefits.

Cons

I worked there for nearly 8 yrs and although I worked my way up, it is by far THE WORST company I've ever worked for. Corporate and managers claim no one does their job yet there is never enough staff to properly run a store. They don't back up their employees in customer situations when they know the customer IS WRONG. Outrageously unrealistic expectations with given minimal training. I would never recommend Staples as a place to work. If I could give it a negative star review, I would.

Pros

-Other associates (non-management) are friendly and there's a sense of "we're in this together".

Cons

-Condescending Management -Corporate is delusional -Unrealistic when it comes to work load vs time given to complete work -Constant skeleton crews -Heat in the store (always sweating, and constant customer complaints) -"Prime Time" is a concept that doesn't pan out in practice, and hinders the completion of operational tasks -"Open Door Policy" is a joke -HR only exists to cover Management's bum, and won't help you. -The Inventory Specialist position has *way* too much on it's plate -If you're hurt on the job, it's considered your fault, even if it was a complete accident (also, the managers will make up lies to cover themselves and to keep any blame from possibly falling onto them)

Pros

Only reason to work for them is the experience you gain.

Cons

The pay sucks and when they have the reviews for how well you are doing they only give you about 5-10 cent raise!!! Are you serious! Employees put a lot of hard work to keeping your selfish company running the least you can do is give them a decent raise. Lastly the hours for part timers is awful. They cant go over 25 hours because staples doesn't want to provide benefits. Greedy.
