Pros
Previously (10 years ago) staples was good - now they are awful to work for on all fronts.

I worked with staples as a teenager 10 years ago up until college. . Back then I was paid $10/hour when I left and was treated with basic respect. I interviewed at my local staples as an adult for part time work - and had a long documented history of being a good worker (as well as selling the all important protection plans) so you would think they would be a little happy to see me. They acted pretty unimpressed with my previous work record (selling 10 protection plans a day when other workers sold 1) - when they asked me my salary requirement I said since the economy was bad I would take the $10/hour I previously made (10 years ago!!).. the manager laughed and said it was all done by computer now and I would be lucky to get $8. $8 is an absolute joke considering inflation, it's basically like making $6.50 compared to my previous $10 wage. Not only that, but he then told me how impressive staples has become on the management front, which basically includes micromanaging your every move vs actually trusting you to have a brain. Then he proceeded to tell me how of course I would need to clean the bathroom every day. Don't get me wrong, i'm willing to get my hands dirty when treated with respect, but not while being robbed and micro managed. So, my point is the company went from being good to fascist. They are too greedy for their own good and I wouldn't recommend working for them to my worst enemy.
