Pay was pretty low but above minimum wage still.

The first thing you will notice at Staples is that everything they told you in an interview and hiring process will not be true unless you get it in writing. Bonus is almost never paid out in full, it's always a percent of a percent based off company performance which they keep hidden. The next thing you would notice is there is an extraordinarily high amount of sponsorship workers. Which sounds nice, but it's really because they have such a hard time keeping employees and people on sponsorships have a hard time leaving and finding other jobs. Once you are hired, there are very few benefits, health care is high, 401k is below industry standard and they only match once a year if company performance is good. There is not a lot anything around the headquarters, They monitor how often you badgen in badge out. You will constantly get more work and they'll let people go and you'll just absorb their work, The turnover is high because they'll create a job and hire and then a month later decide they don't want that role and let them go. It's extremely hard to be promoted you'll almost always have an external hire. Leadership has almost no idea what they're doing, The plan changes all the time. Director level and VP level have almost no power. Even the CEO is stuck enacting the plans of the prior CEO who works for the private equity company.
