Pros
It one of the greatest corporate environments that ever existed in the United States and perhaps elsewhere. Dealing with the customers is a life changing and rewarding undertaking far beyond the normal person's reach. I remain proud of the time I worked there and remain friends with many of the extraordinary people since. I know for a fact that we changed countless peoples lives in a positive way forever and not just on a daily basis. Howard Schultz (God bless him) had the basic ideas soundly entrenched in the daily philosophy of the business world. Only when expansionism stole the best mentors for all the new stores did the company suffered as a whole. Since then things have started to return to the original template. I will always feel a great sense of compassion and LOVE towards a company and the selfless employees who continue to carry the message. If you think I am kidding feel free to contact me I have a hundred stories if I have one on the impact on our community.
Cons
Good Managers ( there are many ) train good employees . On Occasion when people stray from the positive original standards, people who really care about doing the best job will be poorly treated. Starbucks on occasion will forget to mentor them into positive behaviors. This is extremely wasteful as the time taken in retraining new hires is costly and affects the bottom line and looses the opportunity to create a fantastic recovery of human resources.
