Pros

Great work environment, #1 principle of company mission statement is to treat each other with respect and dignity. It works because senior management buys into it. Believes in the benefits that come from team building and the sharing of best practices. The finance community works cooperatively, always eager to help and educate new or field partners on processes. Development of partners is key to Starbucks success, leadership skills are developed at all levels. Big on promoting from within, cares about the career progression of its employees.

Cons

For professional services, have to relocate to move up in the company. Test markets for new products are generally on the West coast often resulting in sweeping assumptions for all markets that don't always ring true and can be demotivating to store partners.
