Pros

I worked in a Starbucks in a grocery store. Your experience depends largely on your manager. If she is fair and gives everyone hours and switches people out on the shifts no on wants (Friday closing shift, Saturday open shift) then you will have a decent time. Customers get to know you and will tell you all about their lives. Oftentimes I was asked to be creative and make something new and off the menu for our regular customers, which was fun. Of course, working around coffee was great too.

Cons

In trouble for not meeting sales goals when we had no traffic and the entire store was suffering and on the decline. Co-workers who had been there longer were favored by manager and given all holidays off. At our store, trays of pastries would be thrown out each night instead of donated to soup kitchens or given to employees.
