Just not the right fit for everyone.

Pros

Great partner benefits, relatively flexible schedule if you play your cards right, the company itself has a lot of great ideas and programs, and most of the people you'll end up working with are really great.

Cons

Some aspects of management really could use a lot of work. Many people I've talked with have complained of a lack of professionalism and responsibility in the management levels. From managers filing unjustified incident reports because they don't want to just talk to partners, to schedules not being written up until halfway through the week before, there are just a lot of things that need to be addressed.

Pros

Flexible work schedule (depending on your manager!) Like I said, IT DEPENDS ON YOUR MANAGER! Good benefits/ employee stock plan Free drinks! Free food while working (depending on your manager)

Cons

-Considering the amount of work you may do (yes, you do more than make drinks) you just aren't paid enough. I've worked for Starbucks off and on for almost 7 years and I'm not making a respectable amount of money, even for a job at a coffee shop. -The way Starbucks does scheduling and runs their stores now as opposed to 3 years ago is drastically different and, in my opinion, worse. Work isn't as fun anymore, often times the staffing isn't done properly due to labor hours available. Worst of all, the schedules are pretty set every week. If you like that, then this isn't a con for you, but I don't like working the same shift every single day that I work. -Recently there has been a trend to meet certain sales goals...this is never good in a business that has a loyal customer base that ONLY wants what they always order and nothing more. -Staffing SUCKS, even in high-volume stores. -Getting promoted is difficult unless you're someone's favorite. I've worked for the company for years and I've trained many of my superiors yet I've never been promoted beyond a barista trainer.
