Pros

Very good benefits: stock options, healthcare, 401k, free coffee Very flexible hours It is usually a fairly laid back work environment

Cons

Advancing within the company is fairly difficult. Sometimes you will have to wake up very early to make it to your shift, like 3AM. Calling in sick is frowned upon. Unless you are extremely sick, it is frowned upon to do so as schedules are set. It is hard to ever get more than 37 or so hours a week.

Pros

Great Benefits, Good Pay, Fun people to work with, Most regulars are awesome people, I really enjoyed my time at Starbucks and the people I've met. If you find a great manager to work under the job can be very rewarding.

Cons

Hours can be a little draining. I was fortunate enough to not have a horrible boss who scheduled me to close (1030PM) and open (430AM) the next day, among other things.
