      Poor management, at the store I worked for at least.

      Pros

      Nice discount, loved some of the people I worked with, a fun place to work a lot of the time

      Cons

      The management was awful. They definitely played favorites especially when granting people time off and when someone wasn't, it was very difficult to make yourself heard. People would not show up to work without even calling in, but were given warnings. When other people called in to say they couldn't come in, they were threatened with termination.

      Starbucks is slowly making it harder and harder to work there

      great benefits good work environment, in general (management makes or breaks the environment) easy job, flexible hours people, both customers and employees, could be great

      Cons

      There is a lot of pressure these days on all levels to perform - perform or you will be replaced with someone who -can- do the job, especially in this work environment. The times have changed from having a warm and fuzzy culture to one focused on stopping the bleeding, to minimize costs, maximize sales, and the people piece, which used to be the most important part, is slowly being eroded. On top of that, there are no longer the same opportunities for advancement as there once were, so don't expect to move up anytime soon.

      Pros

      flexible hours and easy to trade shifts with others. good pay, especially since you get tips on top. usually work with interesting people and get to meet new people as well.

      Cons

      how enjoyable the environment is largely depends on your manger and how flexible s/he is. as company is going through difficult times, more difficult to get hours
