Pros

Great benefits, like healthcare and Spotify, and free coffee. I think it's an especially great job for people pursuing Bachelor's Degrees with ASU. I wish they had a Masters's program. The partners are what make it worth it. I've made so many friends at the six different stores I've worked at. I honestly really loved my time as a barista and supervisor.

Cons

Not a good work/life balance. As an ASM you're expected to come in at any hour or transfer to a different store, wherever is needed, whether you want to or not. Because you belong to "the district", not the store. Also, if you disagree with a direction Starbucks is going or a decision your district is making, you do not have much room to fight for it. They'll tell you that "maybe the role isn't right for you", if you don't agree with them. It felt almost gaslighty how they talk you out of having any dissenting opinions, but then make the culture seem like they totally listen to you. They don't. Also it's tough being an introvert there because you already are managing a team but then they always expect extra participation in the district. Which is understandable, but there's a lot of unexpected socialization that's tough.
