Pros

This agency has good benefits. The schedule to see patients is flexible and you can do the DMH paperwork at your home with the laptop that they provide to you. You get a lot of training.

Cons

The agency has been restructuring areas and programs for a long time and your teams, patients, and supervisors change constantly. Upper management has good intentions, but fails to see the needs of the employees. Many emplooyees quit and you are given double the number of patients that you should have to cover up for them. The paperwork (DMH) takes over your life. The work is intense (since involves all DCFS/probation cases), which can easily burn you out after a while, but what it really puts you over the edge is the constant changes in the agency. Team work becomes difficult when people are dissapointed with the agency and stop caring about the cases.

SBHG has continuously grown to serve more clients and families throughout the company’s 28-year history. This former employee’s experience seems to have been impacted by a period of change that has taken place recently at this particular program. Regrettably, sometimes our managers need to shift caseloads and work teams to accommodate to these external changes. This seems to have contributed to this employee’s experience, and we are sorry to hear that was the case. We do have pay practices in which employees are provided additional compensation if there is a significant added workload for an extended period.
