Pros

Not many. They pay for you to complete training, yet provide almost none. They at least reimburse you for your insurance licensure tests if you pass the first time.

Cons

Terrible environment, horrible pay. Literally slave wages while the agent is a literal millionaire. She owns like 60 houses she rents, has like 10 mil in life insurance, owns land and a million dollar custom home, and pays her employees $9/hour. All the while she judges your character and is willing to fire you on the spot if she dislikes anything about you. Not worth it. If you've gotta take the job cause you need work, expect to be leaving soon. No benefits provided. No support. No training process. No HR department. Had to arrive an hour early and leave an hour late every day and still never finished my workload. I worked extremely hard for less than Target employees are paid. Save yourself the trouble and find employment somewhere else.

Pros

Great customers. Lots of relationship building, and opportunities to make people's days a bit brighter.

Cons

State Farm as a company has gone downhill horribly over the past year or so. Just look into the agent contract mess of 2026. The pay is also low compared to comparable positions with other carriers, and the comp plan is a joke.
