Pros

-Good entry point for newly licensed insurance agents -Competitive Pay -Decent Hours

Cons

-Working for an independent Agent comes with it's own problems, such as lack of benefits, differing pay structure from other agents, etc. -Archaic processing for requests such as policy changes, underwriting, etc. Customer policy changes can take anywhere between 2-6 weeks to finally process, leaving you to consistently deal with upset customers. -Agents can be very sly with luring you in with benefits, etc. only to rugpull and tell you that they are not available until a year into the position. -Commission for some agents is solely dependent on if you can sell a Life insurance policy as well. If you do not sell any life insurance policies, but sell a bunch of P&C, you will not see a dime of commission from it.

Pros

Pay was decent and the health insurance was great!

Cons

The working conditions are not the best. At the time of my departure in April I had 124 claims in my que. Back in November-December I had over 140 claims that were assigned to me. The stress and workload was causing me health problems.
