Pros

Good salary and benefits, good first line management support, work-life balance is encouraged.

Cons

New collaborative spaces and "centralized" decision-making are taking toll on productivity. In the past, mid-level managers could work directly with business partners to get new functionality out the door. Now, everything, including ideas have to go through a central board and be approved a minimum of 18 months before they can be deployed. It's encouraged for developers to stop developing and become experts at documentation.

Pros

The work is interesting. The company has a long-standing and well-deserved reputation of caring about its employees. The people are generally easy to get along with.

Cons

There are too many new initiatives in place, including restructuring internal processes and expanding corporate-type roles to other offices. I believe that not all of these initiatives were well thought-out individually and lots of backtracking has characterized early-stage work. Further, resources are stretched this to tackle all these things at once. Fortunately, leadership is plying us with bonus-money, which makes the aggravation a little easier to take.
