Pros

If upper management likes you, you'll be put on committees and your face will be out there & more opportunities will come.

Cons

People at State Farm don't retire so there isn't a lot of room for advacement. You also have to be mobile to get promoted usually.

Pros

Working in an agent's office as a staff member can be a very rewarding experience. You will learn a tremendous amount of knowledge regarding many different aspects of business. State Farm has a wide array of insurance and financial products so you will always continue learning and being challenged. Much of the experience (especially compensation) depends on the specific agent and how they compensate their employees for their sales & hard work.

Cons

It can be extremely stressful, tough work. Must be able to multi-task or you will not be successful. Must be very proficient in customer service and have patience.
