      - secure job - ability to move around to different departments / offices - nice rewards for pursuing educational/insurance designations

      Cons

      State Farm as a whole operates in a passive-aggressive fashion, without the ability to resolve conflict in a healthy manner. Departments operate in silos, the result of which is very poor communication, turf-wars, and duplication of work efforts as normal behavior. State Farm's top management and Executives have worked here for their entire career, and are well-versed in perpetuating the dysfunctional corporate culture, but not very good at being leaders. There are no consequences for poor performance, and those of us who do try to make a difference are treated as being difficult. Unfortunately, good workers don't generally have the skills for long-term employment in a negative, politically charged bureaucracy.

      Pros

      State Farm in Bloomington is a nice stable place to work. You don't have to worry about job security unless you are just a complete mess. I went through the internship program as well so it was a great place for me straight out of college.

      Cons

      If you're looking for fast paced, SF is not the place for you. However, if you're looking for a nice steady place to be at then SF is great.
