      Pros

      Flexible hours. As an estimator, I can plan my own day and start early, finish early, or start latrer and finish later. As long as you complete an 8hr. day and give the company this, then all is well.

      Cons

      Not getting recognition for a jobwell done and feeling blindsided when you screw up, as everyone will do at some point in time. I was also dissatisfied with their "pay for performance" change in the late 90's. I feel that all this was is a change to save to company more money, at the sacrifice of their employees. ie no more cost of living, total raise per year is split as a percentage. Example a 7% raise would be 3.5% merit, 3.5% cash bonus.

      Pros

      State Farm is the leader of the insurance industry. With that said, depending on who you are talking with, saying you work for State Farm can get you a free piece of pie or a cold shoulder. Everyone respects State Farm and that respect is also given to its employees.

      Cons

      Having to cringe when I'm asked where I work. I never know what to expect from someone because of all the bad media. State Farm needs to defend our company publicly as well as it has privately in the courtrooms.
