Pros

Strong benefits. Great opportunities to help shape the direction of the company and earn positions in leadership. Work/life balance is supported and the long-term benefits are fantastic.

Cons

Sometimes employees don't receive the communications that are vital to there role from their management prior to changes or the supporting information around the reasons for the change. However, this can probably be said about most large companies with numerous individuals in leadership.

Pros

State Farm is a stable foundation. When folks are young, they like to be on the bleeding edge of the workforce and technology and that is great for them and their industry; however, they will find that it takes constantly re-inventing yourself and the things you represent. For the long haul, people should realize the importance of having a secure place to work that enables you to live the life you want. You can get burned out over long periods if you always live to work. State Farm enables you to get what you need to live, both as an employee and a customer. A tremendous compliment to the progress of society.

Cons

The retirement benefits are a bit lower than some other companies and some people cannot handle the move to mid-Illinois. Those are really the only negatives to working there.

Pros

Flexible work schedule, location of corporate offices, friendliness of co-workers, positive work environment, latest technology, great benefits for family including access to one of the best parks and pools in central Illinois.

Cons

Small town in the middle of Illinois corn fields. If you like the big city, you won't be happy here. There isn't many cultural events in the community and you have to travel to Chicago or St. Louis for fun and entertainment.
