Inflexible Work Hours since the Transformation (HR will sell you on work life balance...as soon as you sit at the desk, that fantasy is over).
Very Low Pay, No Raises, Impossible to achieve bonuses
Extremely inflexible corporate power structure
If you like doing nearly nothing all day, and being forced to sit in a chair for 8 hours...this is probably the place for you.
If you like to contribute and influence the job you work at, or if you're passionate about technology...stay away. State Farm has one of the ugliest cut throat corporate ladder climbing culture in the US. ANY conflict will immediately be escalated to leadership where the favored few employees will win. Have a problem with the sweater someone is wearing...take it to leadership. Can't stand that coworker that suggested an improvement on your project, take it to leadership. Have a real idea that could save the company millions...DON'T TAKE THAT TO LEADERSHIP (that's someone's baby that you just exposed).
The pay is low for the area, and the benefits that were competitive have been taken away. HR will promise bonuses and raises that simply don't happen. Pension is next on the list to go, and I wouldn't bet on it lasting more than another year or two.
It's ugly there, very ugly.
