Pros

Amazing people work at State Farm and depending on what department you work in, it's never boring always something new every day.

Cons

The last 3 years of constant organization changes are exhausting leading to burn out, stress, and instability.

Pros

Little to No responsibility If you have no real skill, but the ability to stay low, and always say yes, you'll like it there.

Cons

Inflexible Work Hours since the Transformation (HR will sell you on work life balance...as soon as you sit at the desk, that fantasy is over). Very Low Pay, No Raises, Impossible to achieve bonuses Extremely inflexible corporate power structure If you like doing nearly nothing all day, and being forced to sit in a chair for 8 hours...this is probably the place for you. If you like to contribute and influence the job you work at, or if you're passionate about technology...stay away. State Farm has one of the ugliest cut throat corporate ladder climbing culture in the US. ANY conflict will immediately be escalated to leadership where the favored few employees will win. Have a problem with the sweater someone is wearing...take it to leadership. Can't stand that coworker that suggested an improvement on your project, take it to leadership. Have a real idea that could save the company millions...DON'T TAKE THAT TO LEADERSHIP (that's someone's baby that you just exposed). The pay is low for the area, and the benefits that were competitive have been taken away. HR will promise bonuses and raises that simply don't happen. Pension is next on the list to go, and I wouldn't bet on it lasting more than another year or two. It's ugly there, very ugly.

Pros

Great leadership in Jacksonville location. Good work/life balance. Good resources for continued training. State Farm attracts some of the best people. I definitely have a work family.

Cons

Lots of company layoffs. Company is moving further away from caring about employees since new CEO took over. State Farm has recently made us realize every employee is easily replaceable and you are simply just a number regardless if you’ve been there 1 year or 20 years. Longevity and State Farm no longer go hand in hand.
