Pros

Scale and reputation of the firm.

Cons

Company follows the peer bandwagon (i.e. other companies are outsourcing, why can't I). Outsourcing/layoffs is first priority to save money, even when service quality suffers. Everything is done to please shareholders (not employees or customers). Creative PR and lipservice jeopardize integrity of the firm. Pay rate / salaries are lower than peers and other similar firms.

Pros

The benefits were good and they offered good work/life balance.

Cons

Our department went though 10 years of yearly layoffs. Morale was horrible and most of my peers felt we should have been happy to make it through the cuts. Eventually I was laid off as our jobs were outsourced.
