      Easy place to get your "foot in the door". If you work hard and separate yourself then there is generally advancement

      Weak talent pool. Terrible hierarchy that is entirely too top heavy. Poor compensation relative to other companies in the financial services sector. High turnover

      Pros

      Great to get your foot in the door in the financial services industry, State Street has an industry wide reputation and is a great place to learn the ins and outs as well as to develop contacts throughout the financial services field. Flexible work arrangement (depending on your group) allowed plenty of opportunity to telecommute. decent benefits, especially for entry level positions.

      Cons

      management is misguided and out of touch with its employees. poor opportunities for career advancement. Once locked into operations or client services there was practically nowhere to go. Though management claimed to want feedback to improve companies from employees when it was given it was soundly ignored each and every step of the way. Very easy to get comfortable doing the bare minimum instead of doing a good job.
