Pros

Good place to start and get experience, but the longer you stay, the worse it gets.

Cons

Long hours, many weekends, getting things done on time, accuracy on detail .. none of those items really matter to management. State Street has become a firm of conspicuous nepotism and that is how they promote people. In addition, they don't deal with those that have numerous HR incidents filed against them; if they are in the "favored" crew. Lastly, they continue lay off people every month (last Wednesday of the month), and those that have the subject matter expertise. Again, the "favored" crew are not touched and the left overs get stuck with the work (I was doing the work of 5 people at the end).

Offshoring is a problem

Pros

Pay is ok, not great. Benefits and PTO are really good.

Cons

The company wide offshoring initiative is creating HUGE problems in the U.S. The product received is well below par, and by attrition, onshore employees are forced to work massive amounts of overtime to compensate. So, while the pay looks decent on paper, it pales in comparison to 80 hour work weeks.

Pros

The job is great right out of college and for a few years after. Its filled with young working professionals who like to party after work. The work life is about the only pro

Cons

-Awful pay -Offices and desk are clustered -Too many "VPs" -Office space type of job where you have people you don't know always asking you things
