      Pros

      this review is for SSGA, Canada: 1) nice office but mediocre pay compared to the SSGA staff in boston 2) the employee culture in SSgA canada is decent.

      Cons

      1) too many VPs within a department. This can cause 'too many cooks spoils the soup' situation. VP is like another word for Managers in SSGA 2) If you are not into analytics or portfolio management in canada, there are very limited growth for SSgA canada as most of the positions are located in boston

      Very similar to a government job: Unchallenging but Steady; below average pay with good benefits.

      Pros

      Work-Life balance. Not too very challenging tasks - easy. Because of the relatively unchallenging atmosphere, you can meet and make some good friends. Great for ppl who are content with consistent job responsibilties and expectations. Great health and medical benefits, pretty close to full coverage. Excellent pension contribution program: company contributes 5% and matches your contribution of 1-2% in addition. You can develop excellent MS Excel skills.

      Cons

      Not very challenging. Not very many opportunities to grow, professionally and intelletually. It almost seems like a white collar assembly line, where each postion and department is responsible for a small part of the final product. Pay is approx 15-20% below market.

      Pros

      The company is good to its employees and I feel a sense of accomplishment in what I do. I enjoy the atmosphere and feel overall things are fair.

      Cons

      Too many demands and competing priorities, sometimes difficult to get ideas across and make change.
