No Work Life Balance

Pros

Good benefits, good people, good discount, breakfast on Fridays.

Cons

No work-life balance, long work hours, no summer Fridays, no early dismissal before holidays, no flex time, less that generous time off policy, not a lot of paid holidays. Everyone works long work days (6pm) and then before a holiday while every other company lets their employees have half days senior management makes everyone work a full day. If they do an early dismissal, it's 4:00pm. They make you work long hours and don't give anything in return. All people do before a holiday or on Friday's in the summer is complain that they are working instead of doing any work.

Pros

pay in competitive, offers commission.

Cons

work overtime all the time- with no overtime benefits, was a manager and never trained, lots of gossiping in upper management and favoritism. Boss has made inappropriate passes on former employees. Very unorganized.

Pros

GREAT discount (50%) and a free pair of shoes seasonally, however the selection for female employees is substantially better than the selection for male employees, unfortunately.

Cons

This company treats it's customers better than it's own employees, and is very cheap. there's no reason why a crew member at chick-fil-a makes more than a manager at steve madden (tfactual story, due to personal experience). This company is NOTORIOUS for over hiring staff members, then, because of overstaffing asking you to relocate, or continually write you up due to missed sales goals, when..hello?! you cant sell to customers that arent walking through the door! also, steve madden's shoes are ridiculously narrow cut and extremely PAINFUL, i worked at a philadelphia location store and not one, not some, but...EVERY female employee had damaged feet due to the shoes (corns, bunions..etc) a few male employees had to actually purchase a new pair of shoes during their shift, due to their heels bleeding! This company also has very outdated software, which makes it not ideal for customers who want to do things like place an order for an out of stock item. There is no real advancement within the company unless you kiss butt, or you're being used as a space holder until someone else is hired for the same position you were already offered. take it from me, please think TWICE before deciding to join this company...not unless you enjoy being overworked, underpaid, and expendable, with bunions on your feet, and a subpar paycheck.
