Pros
1. Recruiters will attract people with a degree and help you to get higher than industry average pay 2. Chance to interact with ownership and involvement in some overall decisions
Cons
I would definitely read the reviews of the office staff before joining this company. They have captured the overall ambiance of this place. Here is a quick summation of what I experienced: 1. Countless hours of excess work due to lack of proper staffing, outdated technology, and individuals who are not qualified to do their job purposely creating barriers against one another. Expect to work Saturdays and long hours. 2. Loyalty comes from employees who have been given jobs they have no business being in; creating barriers to any type of improvements 3. Generational ownership where claims to knowing every portion of the operation is the spiel. Sorry but working one month in one department does not mean you experienced it all. 4. Culture if you don't mind being berated and demoralized by the owners then this is the place for you. Those who have worked a long time for the family believe in their job protection at all costs. 5. Benefits suck. For a company who tries to gain overall competitiveness with employees through retaining and attracting top talent, they don't have much to offer. They match 401k up to 1600 per year which does not get vested until year 6 (that's literally less than 2% per year). No HSA plan, No FSA plan, No tuition reimbursement, Employee discounts, etc. You would also think that for the hard work you do you should deserve some time off; you earn first 3 months no PTO then you occur PTO at an incremental measurement of .375 hours a week capped at 6 days. So hopefully you or your kids don't get sick. 6. One of the flattest organizations I have ever worked for or have ever heard off. Driving employees are the bread winners for the owners; if the owners get wind of "poor treatment" of a driver by a manager, be prepared to get yelled out or an email war chain against all of the "stupid" decisions that you made. Owners watch all traffic on employee review sites and seek to destroy anyone who puts truths about their fear based leadership
