Pros

Some good people that mean well, are caring and good at their jobs, especially within ER US. deep access to US capital market that comes with being US based, somehow not the worst thing for your CV.

Cons

Strategy from group down, and specifically in Europe is nonsensical and also changes every 6 months. management keeps buying low quality businesses and putting low energy bankers on multi year earn outs they cant achieve, culture of rewarding loyalty over competence, clearly have no clue what drives revenues. Variable is poor, and in spite of being low is also subject to a clawback, limited equity participation and on a 5 year vesting schedule. Extreme bureaucracy for a relatively small bank, there is no real culture or identity.
