Pros

WFH. that's it. and WFH really is not that great if you're experiencing crippling anxiety from the stress of your job that doesn't even pay your bills.

Cons

coming back here a few months post-layoff because I really feel it is THAT important to warn people about Stord. I am going to sound really privileged for a sec, but I was happy they laid me off. I had to take a short disability at one point during my tenure at Stord due to the mental toll that a job that didn't pay my bills or ever allow for me to make commission took on me. I woke up everyday for Stord and I could physically feel my adrenaline and cortisol levels shoot up and my body tense into fight or flight. no I'm not exaggerating. yes it is that bad. the managers are all absent when you need them and down your throat when you're trying to be an adult and do the job they hired you to do. explain that dichotomy. you can't even book a truck without having to wait a minimum of 30 minutes on one reply from a manager only for them to give a counter rate that is so below market rate its actually delusional. their customers are all the worst shippers and receivers on planet earth and I'm not exaggerating here either. I was continually the bearer of bad news as owner operators whom I booked on loads sat for days on end at receivers trying to offload product that wasn't being received for any one of a myriad of reasons that day that could've been avoided if only through more concise communication and more effective account prospecting on the customer side of the brokerage. 9 times out of 10 the drivers on these loads received no pay for those days without work, stuck on a load that should have been reveled to them was not worth their time in the first place. I could go one for hours about all the horrible business practices I witnessed here, but I won't. Stord wasted about 9 months of my life that I will never get back. It is impossible to succeed unless you are soulless and spineless at this company. Unless both of those descriptors fit you well, take my advice and work literally anywhere else. You're welcome.

Pros

Good co-workers and courteous HR - Unlimited PTO which the reason is they do not want to pay PTO after you are laid off.

Cons

favoritism and discrimination at the management level ( very true claims). lack of training and micromanagement.
