Pros

I don't have much good to say. The job was easy to learn, but very mundane, and a lot of the people I supported treated me like I was the only person they should help, and got frustrated with me if I wasn't done with their stuff before they even gave it to me.

Cons

Tons of politics. Probably the worst I've ever seen - and its been 4 years since I've been there, and I still feel that way. Unless you are part of the good ol' boys club, there is not a single chance you will get a promotion. Toxic management. They all play games, and if you don't eat out of their hands you don't get admission into their club. Management constantly threatened my job and made me feel like I was the worst employee ever. This was literally said to me in a performance review "everywhere else your two mistakes are nothing, but here, they are major and might cost you your job" yep you read that right! I made TWO mistakes - the whole time I was there, and they admitted they would be no big deal at any other company, but at their precious school, it was practically life and death, cause they're so much more important than everyone else. I got held back from moving to a position I would have excelled at, because of a rumor... No one fact checks there. And rumors are constant. Worked stupidly insane hours, could never make plans cause I never knew when I would be off work.

Pros

Health benefits and decent pay

Cons

Terrible work-life balance, politics, extreme gossip to the point that many have walked out of the job in tears. I myself was sexually harassed by upper management for 4 months. When I contacted the Corporate DC office to complain as that was the only person higher than my supervisor, I was told it would be investigated and it never was. When the harassment continued, I mouthed off to the supervisor who was harassing me and was then let go for being "unprofessional" - mind you I had spent the last 4 months silently undergoing the harassment while waiting for someone to investigate it. Definitely no open door policy here and if I had enough evidence, I'd be suing Strayer. Unfortunately, all the sexual harassment I underwent was verbal so there was not enough evidence for me to do so. Avoid working at this place at all costs.

Pros

Very good local campus; friendly, professional staff who genuinely care about students. On-campus students generally of higher quality than those online.

Cons

Horrible corporate leaders and staff; violate numerous Federal employment laws in managing personnel. Number of students per online class doubled during tenure but University decreased compensation for teaching an undergraduate class. Poor curriculum and technology.
