Amazing Opportunity

Pros

I just finished my 7th year with Stride and honestly feel it's one of the best work environments I've ever experienced. The ability to focus on what matters - students, learning, and growth - is refreshing. I'm part of a truly amazing administrative team, and I feel supported and valued. I love the periodic wellness challenges and the multiple opportunities to learn and grow professionally. I am proud to work at Stride!

Cons

There are definite trade-offs, but I appreciate that my time isn't consumed by discipline and that I don't have to worry about safety. My evenings aren't filled up with supervising co-curricular activities. To me, it's more the trade-offs are more than worth it. Some people have trouble viewing things from both an educational perspective but also a business perspective.

Business Outlook

Pros

Lots of remote positions - company was smart about letting staff remain distributed post-COVID.

Cons

Was a highly successful, if niche-y, virtual charter school business for many years. Now trying to pivot to become a more diversified company that sells its broadening menu of products and services “a la carte” rather than just relying on the legacy K-12 business. Lots of turnover, and heavily siloed departments. Key staff / leadership is mostly from the legacy business with little expertise or appetite for the kind of changesk required…
