Great products, toxic culture

Pros

Company is doing really well as a result of great products and during your interview everything will likely seem amazing and promising. For my interview there was a diverse panel put in place, but once I was there I quickly realized it is not diverse at all.

Cons

Lack of diversity (sales force is predominantly white males, as our the leaders at the top of most functions). Marketing doesn’t actually matter, sales runs the show. Leadership consists of tenured people who have mostly never worked anywhere else and will never do anything different. If you can’t play the game then this isn’t the place for you. Also work life balance sucks. Travel pre-Covid was heavy and you would never get time back from being gone on weekends.

Pros

ASR position gives you an entry into Stryker and time to learn the industry, product, call points, and division very well before having a quota. Great company, benefits, stock program, etc. Fun culture, work hard party hard mentality. Great medical device company

Cons

Pretty low salary compared to competitors ASR positions. You are basically the grunt worker of the Sales Representative you work under. You are essentially doing work that the rep will get paid for instead of you. Everyone has to put their time in, pay their dues, and then you get the position everyone wants - Sales Representative and thats where you make the $$$.

Pros

Get to travel and meet different people across the states, and learn under a fast paced environment

Cons

Racial bias, people who are white are most likely to get hired and to be given opportunities to grow in the profession they are hired to work.
