Great Company but...

Pros

Excellent programs for employees. Great HR department. Plenty of activities to engage employees. Great benefits. One of the best companies I've worked under.

Cons

I worked in IT and they have one of the worst IT departments I've seen. All other departments within Stryker are great. They hired a new CIO a few years ago who outsourced everything he possibly could overseas. That was his way to fix their problems. Not impressed at all. A lot of highly talented IT people lost their jobs to foreign simply for the sake of saving money.

Pros

Stryker offers comprehensive benefit packages for employees including a 401k match program and yearly bonuses

Cons

Racism at its best! Teams are created based on race where the opportunity to work on key projects is passed on to caucasian employees. In addition, promotions are also mostly limited to caucasian.

Churn and burn

Pros

If you thrive in a contrived cut throat environment, this is for you.

Cons

Culture is company above everything, your life IS the company. Burn employees out and go get more. Worst place I've ever worked. I'm not afraid of stress and long hours - my current position is just that. But it helps to work with grown adults - not people who think they are about to parachute behind the lines and engage the enemy in mortal combat. The posturing and chest thumping is a bit much to take. Sometimes it felt like a cult.
