Don't drink the Kool-Aid! The contract process isn't 6 months, (mine was a year and now they've changed it to be closer to a year+) during that time you will not have PTO or paid holidays and you won't have a lot of unpaid days off or sick days. Oh, and you're making less than everyone else doing the same job. You will NEVER be able to leave this department. To sell the position they'll say "You can move up and advance relatively quickly." First, you're required to stay post-contract for a minimum of a year. After that, it's either they don't want you to leave or there aren't any opportunities available. Regardless, no one leaves this department or is able to move up in the company. You're basically the bottom of the totem pole at Stryker, and there's no such thing as advancing from this position. I WISH my experience at Stryker was how I thought it would be. Such "great culture" and "good work environment" do not at all apply to this department.

No appreciation for employees that give there all to a company. Average starting pay in Bay Area (Santa Clara County) is $32.16. After being with the company for 16yrs and only at $34 I feel such a loss of time and lack of respect for a career I once loved. There is no HR support when you need it, it is a friend only environment that gets you a promotion or a different position. The pay is horrible! This company will post a job as Salary, and depending who applies will switch to Hourly. I would recommend other companies.
