Pros

1. Free employee meal 2. Half off purchase for family (spouse & children only) 3. Take home free expired food (still good) 4. A month's paid vacation after 1 year (France) 5. Meet new people

Cons

1. May be short staffed so you work harder 2. Lots of cleaning 3. Low pay 4. Must wear black shoes & dress pants along with company uniform & hat 5. If opening or closing, the first & last hour of work is sometimes stressful to finish on time.

Pros

It isn't particularly challenging, and when working with a good team, it can almost be enjoyable.

Cons

I was given far too many evening shifts that I didn't want (until 3am). Only men closed the restaurant and they were always alone from about 8pm, which was always frustrating when the bars closed and we were rushed. There was virtually no potential for growth or advancement, nor even the potential for a raise with demonstrated skill, speed, or experience.
