A Great Place to Build Your Career

Pros

The people you work with are the best in the industry. Everyone helps each other, brings different skills and strengths, and genuinely cares for your well-being and work/life balance. You work hard, but are proud of the projects you work on and the type of buildings Suffolk constructs throughout the country. Don't listen to what others outside of the company might say - if you are passionate, hard-working, and driven, Suffolk is a great place to build your career.

Cons

The Boston location is not ideal for city-dwellers and having a car is recommended. Although there is flex time off, work from home is limited. There are no bonuses or profit-sharing. (Other benefits are great)

Pros

Suffolk does value you as a person that has a family and life outside of work hours. My family was traumatically affected by Hurricane Ian. The Suffolk family came to our rescue and assisted us in every way imaginable to get us collected again and back on our feet. All this and I had only been with Suffolk for 7 weeks when the hurricane occurred. I also found the project teams to be like family as cliché as that sounds, but it is accurate. Everyone helps each other out to carry the load as it fluctuates

Cons

Suffolk has a reputation for high expectations from their employees to work long and unbalanced hours. This was a major concern when I was contemplating my acceptance of a job offer from them. I will agree that Suffolk anticipates the best from each person, however I have found that the reputation is not deserved. They provide many resources to assist us with our job efficiency and provide flex time off to balance our personal lives.
