Pros

Summit Polymers does provide decent pay and benefits to employees.

Cons

Aggressive and combative management regularly seeks to place blame on subordinates, even mechanical failures due to lack of maintenance.

Pros

Started my career in HR there and it set me up well to advance and move on. I learned a little about every aspect of HR. Summit has processes and procedures very well organized and detailed, making it easier to learn.

Cons

No employee recognition; internal advancement poor (especially for production employees); everyone is "disposable"; pay for the lower level salary positions is very poor and increases are never more than 3%. Certain production/floor positions make more than many salary employees (salary employees who had to have a 4 year degree to get hired).

With our Talent Management program, in the1st half of 2016, 71% of our Manager/Supervisor openings were filled by internal applicants. Journeyman skilled trades (maintenance, tooling, automation) technicians do make higher pay than entry-level salary positions. We are working diligently to improve Summit as a place to work. Salary turnover has trended down substantially since 2013 in spite of a tight labor market.

Pros

Enjoyed working with coworkers and did my best at everything I did

Cons

Too many people telling you telling you to do one thing and the other person tell you to do something different at the same time.
