Pros

Very few. It was on the MARTA line and there was a decent cafeteria downstairs.

Cons

I was a contractor in the IT/data analytics dept. The floor was jammed packed with H-1B's, at least 75%. Some excellent people, but that many low wage earners tells you a lot about the company culture. About 6 weeks after I started, I was re-orged, then immediately was forced to undergo a "stealth" re-interview for my position, and my replacement was hired a few days later. For the next 3 months or so I had zero interaction with my boss, but was also starved for work (intentionally I believe). Despite asking for more to do, very little came my way. Finally, a couple of back to back meetings with my boss led me to believe that the end was near...I was warned that lack of productivity would lead to my release and then there was a sudden interest in exactly what I was doing and how I was doing it, to justify my release for both lack of productivity and poor performance. And to determine when would be the least disruptive moment to terminate me. I immediately gave my 2 weeks notice and then discovered that my boss had long since started a whispering campaign to try and portray me as a complete slacker. A knowledge transfer session with the aforementioned replacement revealed just the opposite.

Pros

Good for entry level IT work, vacation, 401k, ability to change roles, and benefits.

Cons

Managers are usually inexperienced and don't know what they're talking about, but make huge bucks. Contributors don't get paid according to industry standard. No one listens to IT Security. Change Control procedures are ludicrous, change control staff made it so complicated only they know how it works. All the attention is on finance people, they don't care about the IT staff that builds their infrastructure. Most contributors have antiquated skills or do jobs that can be automated. A lot of technical initiatives are slowed or stopped because managers don't know anything technical.

Pros

Coworkers are wonderful and feel like family.

Cons

After 12 years of performance reviews of "exceptional" my job was eliminated. I was given the options to 1) voluntarily accept a demotion or 2) take the severance package and leave the company. I left the company and went to work for one of the bank's competitors.
