Pros

I graduated from Drexel University College of Engineering. My degree is Electrical Engineering Systems and Controls. Drexel a private college and has a higher entrance requirement than the local state colleges. Drexel has a challenging curriculum. In addition to electrical engineering courses, I also studied Chemistry, Modern Physics, Thermo Physics, Biology, Statics, Dynamics, Fluid mechanics, and Material Science. I found this course extremely important in my career as an Electrical instrument engineer. The advanced systems and control mathematics that I learned in my Drexel core tract are invaluable is the designing controls for the most complex situations. Also, since my tract was systems and controls, I took a graduate power class that was a review of the total power tract. I am considered of be in my late career stage. That means I have a wealth of experience and knowledge that I am have to hit the ground running, and be leader or mentor.

Cons

i am often discriminated against for my age and sex

Pros

The people are great and I was given a lot of responsibility. Definitely learned more here than with other oil refiners. Some of that had to do with it being a lean organization following the lay offs. Love the location of Philadelphia.

Cons

There was a disconnect between the refineries and upper management. This made sense since they eventually sold off or shut down all of the refineries. Busy periods would lead to long hours and this was sometimes quite unpredictable.
