Pros

What I would have listed as pros in my first few years are no longer available.

Cons

New CEO came in and recently negotiated sale of company; many layoffs and org changes over the past year. A lot of the perks that employees used to have were removed.

No longer the company it once was; C-Suite is failing

Pros

Pay, Benefits, remote work, pretty decent work-life balance

Cons

The C‑suite has started deflecting accountability for their own strategic missteps. Weak decision‑making, unclear business strategy, and an inability to build and support strong teams have led to product failures, financial gaps, inaccurate forecasting, the loss of long‑tenured talent, and ultimately layoffs.

Pros

It was a good place to work back in the day, but recent layoffs and private equity investment have hurt on many fronts.

Cons

A Private Equity (PE) company has recently staked their claim in Surescripts. The typical PE model is to cut costs and flip their stake in a couple of years. Not exactly a fun environment. Additionally, the benefits are mundane, their is a lack of trust among employees, and an inability to grow the company in a meaningful way.

Leadership issues abound

Pros

Pay is at market rate. Perks like Summer Hours, mental health days, etc

Cons

Multiple rounds of layoffs since TPG took over in 2025. Dwindling customer satisfaction scores after laying off customer success teams. C-suite has no strategic vision leading to massive turnover and a lack of direction leading to overall employee burnout.

The TPG takeover was the downfall of Surescripts

Pros

Great coworkers (but good luck to those who remain). Good pay. Fully remote. Your work feels like you are making a difference in Healthcare.

Cons

Frank Harvey is just OK, previous CEO was better and more caring. Was taken over by TPG and since then the company has done multiple rounds of layoffs. Way too much work to do in a lifetime, the firings don't help. Decisions were made by upper management that makes no sense and we a had to scramble to complete it. Direction and processes change too frequently to keep up.

Stay away… used to be great

Pros

People in the trenches are passionate and helpful.

Cons

C-Suite dishonest; announced sale to Private Equity and when asked directly in town hall, said there would be no layoffs. A few short days later over 60 people were laid off. This was after essentially cleaning out tenured (and therefore likely expensive resources) one-off or in small groups for over a year, as if no one was paying attention. Company unable to deliver on innovation and new products. How any senior product or strategy leader still has a job after failing to deliver growth for multiple years is baffling. Repackaging the same product multiple different ways is not good business and doesn’t make commercial sense. No wonder we had to sell. Really sad to see what was a great company culture slowly wane after Harvey came in as CEO. One of the least inspiring leaders I’ve worked under. The majority of colleagues I talk to are searching for a new job, unfortunately the job market is tough right now. Those who aren’t looking are demoralized and just wanting to keep a paycheck. If you’re talented and considering this organization, run in the opposite direction. Until we see leadership cleaned out, your talents will be wasted here.
