Pros

*Meet really great people and create lifelong friends. *Gym at HQ in White, GA. *You will learn what you want/don't want from an employer.

Cons

*Micromanagement to the max- from leadership to the low man on the totem pole. *Leadership and management has CONSTANT turnover and each replacement has different views and goals for the company. *No freedom to express creativity or ideas. *Supervisors feel threatened if you offer ideas they didn't propose. *Salary employees are treated like hourly employees. (You're only salary at Surya so they don't have to pay you overtime). *Salary is not competitive. *Markets can be fun, but the con is working 14 hour days for 7 days in a row (not including your days in the office) with no extra pay and only one comp day of which you must take within 2 weeks of returning (which is crunch time for sales to convert orders, so taking this day off is not in your best interest). *Unrealistic sales commission goals and expectations - don't expect a bonus (no matter what they tell you in your interview). *In the last year, Sales has been provided 4 different commission plans and the numbers are never accurate. *Not to mention the 3 different position contracts as the requirements for the position are constantly changing. *Minimal growth opportunities. *Turnover is outrageous, especially in Sales - this effects customer growth which in turn effects your growth. *Sales refers to this as the "Monthly Sales Firing". *Benefits for families are very expensive and not affordable based on pay. *HR is practically nonexistent. Nothing is confidential and some situations I've witnessed are referred to as retaliation. *CEO is full of inappropriate comments which HR does not address. (Racism, Swearing, Belittlement, etc). *Raises are not offered even to tenured employees. *"Tenured employees" are an office joke as you are considered "tenured" if you make it past the 1 year mark. *Department and company wide politics. *Communication within the department including the company as a whole is very poor. *Pretty much need a bathroom pass to use the restroom. *Taking your "provided" breaks are frowned upon. *Upper Management is verbally abusive, throws things in meetings, and does not offer guidance where needed. Some feel personally attacked if you do not offer a "good morning" of some sort each day. *Sales Management will do whatever necessary to secure their job. They ask you to do one thing, then reprimand you for doing it. They will praise you in department meetings, then reprimand you for the same thing later that day. *Growing pains are inevitable, but the technology to continue to grow is too expensive to warrant updating the company software. *Each department works out of different software portals, hence the communication failure. I could go on but the negative company moral you experience on a daily basis is not worth working at Surya. Do yourself a favor and continue looking for other jobs and career paths; you will be better off. If you choose to discard everything myself and others have offered you in advice here on GD, I wish you the best of luck.

Pros

Having a great team of showroom labor that completed tasks quickly and on time

Cons

60 hour weeks for Salary employees, when asked why we had to work 60 hour weeks and everyone else only 40 the response from upper management was its part of the job, if you don't like it someone else will do it. I had employees directly under me that had been there 8+ years and still only getting $8 per hour, while a new hire working with me was getting $10 per hour, this is wrong and illegal. The company had HR call me to let me go and gave no explanation why, then my two co- worker's were let go 3 weeks later.
