Pros

They finally moved into a new facility after lots of delayed promises, and I hear from current employees that it is very nice.

Cons

I only gave them a 1-star rating because there is no negative-star option. The few elite "leaders" seem unwilling to listen to or even care about what an employee has to say or think.

Pros

The co-workers are cool, that's what everyone else says, and their not wrong but let's face it you can find cool people in any job so.... Surya does a great job of making you realize your self-worth, because one day you will wake up and realize that you deserve better.

Cons

Management is terrible, when I took this job I looked at the reviews and I thought that since the company was still growing that I would have the chance to change things and really affect the company. I was so wrong, management says they want to hear ideas but scoff at you when you make suggestions. You are treated like a child by management even though they are the ones getting drunk at market shows and causing a scene in front of our customers. Benefits are a joke, here's an example: Maternity/short-term disability was a constant issue brought up by employees but management ignored the issue. UNTIL the President's wife had children, then he very quickly fixed the issue. PTO is a joke and below industry standards. Enjoy your 9 days off. You are required to travel, which in itself is fine, but you are also expected to work 12 hour days for 4-5 days, including weekends, as well as working through the work week. I have worked 11-12 days straight before only to come home and have to do it all over again. Sure you are given comp days but if you don't use it within a week or so then you lose it. Which is practically unheard of. The company's President constantly talks about how he wants to take us from a 100 million dollar company to a 1 billion dollar company, but refuses to take the necessary steps to do so. Surya's servers and phone systems go down at least twice a day, but management refuses to upgrade. Pay is below industry standards. HR is practically non-existent. There are two of them for 400+ employees, and those poor ladies have their hands full. Supposedly they are hiring a manager for them, but it's been over a year and they haven't hired anyone, and to be honest if they hire the kind of manager they have hired in the past then I'm not expecting much. The best way to advance in your career at Surya is to leave Surya.
