Still a mission worth helping women

Pros

A dedicated loyal network of volunteers, survivors & staff who are focused on the mission of ending breast cancer forever.

Cons

The Planned Parenthood issue drained the spirit of the organization,as the daily fight took away valuable resources from the mission, and impacted donor relationships as well as losing key talent. With new CEO in place, perhaps they can get back on track and back to helping saving women around the world.

Pros

Great mission, strong admin and marketing support from corporate. Thoroughly enjoyed my time working with some other affiliates, and everyone from corporate.

Cons

Some affiliates might as well not be part of Komen. Thoroughly disliked my time working for Komen SWFL. Director and Board President spoke out of both sides of their mouth. Would have been proud of my job at other affiliates, but embarrassed by the hypocrisy, elitism, and and vitriol at this affiliate. Constant turnover for a tiny office. No health benefits of any kind, even for employees at high risk and with family history of breast cancer. Retaliation for HR complaints.
