Pros

Supportive Sr. Management. Employee friendly. Strives to improve employee's experience via annual employee and management survies. Management not only communicates the performance for their employees but seeks feedback on thier performance as well. Quarterly full day meetings are scheduled which are mandatory for all managers. The range of attendees are supervisors to the CIO. CPMC is an affiliate of SutterHealth whom also employs at employee friendly culture. Employees are very well respected and are encouraged to provide direct feedback to HR if there are any problems. I worked with CPMC for 7.5 years and was promoted on multiple occasions during my tenure. I highly recommend CPMC!

Cons

If working with patients is your desire, and/or calling, then CPMC can be your place. The culture provides for a positive employee experience. The downside is that as new employees are hired in Sr. Management roles that uniqueness of the culture can be lost which can result in creating a challenging atmosphere.

Pros

I work for Sutter VNA and Hospice, I like working there because this division of Sutter is small and very friendly. There is a lot of team spirit and team effort. The benefits started almost immediately. The auxiliary staff is exceptional in their support of the nurses.

Cons

So far? I have not found a down side. I was treated with respect during the interview process and was notified of the results of that interview within days of it. The only thing I am wondering about is the pay scale. I recently moved to the Sacramento area and am not sure what other companies are offering.

Pros

Sutter's employees are great, hard working, fun and experienced. Working there is a joy, working with the students also keeps me on my A game.

Cons

Sutter gets caught in a bureaucratic battle between the state and jcaho and the Sutter policies. As a result, sutter comes up with some pretty stupid and senseless policies which really don't directly effect patient care, but boggs down the employee with extra paperwork and steps which in effect takes longer to complete ANY Ttask. This results in longer wait times for patients, and unhappy employees. To be fair, I have never met Pat Fry, I couldn't pick him out of a crowd if I wanted to. It's my immediate supervisors in my department that I am talking about, but I can only assume that they were directed by upper management.
