Pros

-It is a seven on, seven off shift. -One week of vacation is equivalent to three weeks -Pension plan after 5 years vested -You will be exposed to every aspect of clinical pharmacy -Medical/Dental/Vision is good if in network. -403(b) and Roth 403(b) available for retirement supplement (no matches) -FSA card available -Pay is competitive depending on your years of experience and EPIC exposure

Cons

-You will take care of 3 hospitals during evening and night shifts -Most of the shift is by yourself while a technician works on IV's -Coverage does include PICU, NICU, and ICU (trauma) patients -You will be taking care of outpatient prescriptions -You will be asked to flex out depending on the census of one hospital rather than three. -You will be pulled in multiple directions (especially during the pandemic). -You do not get a determined meal break or breaks due to the nature of the work. -Most charge nurses or house supervisors do not know how to add another RN to PYXIS. You do not get PYXIS privileges for it. -You are technical support to staff (there is an 24 hour telephone number for it)
