Pros
Good pay. Much better than previous jobs. Learn a lot and get to talk to some nice people. Leads are very helpful and there are a lot of knowledge articles to help. Constantly busy which I like because I like to be productive. There is some recognition for our hard work.
Cons
Long time to wait to become an FTE. No PTO as a contractor. Get TONS of pushback from second level teams all the time despite what IS Leadership has stated needs to be done. If there is an access issue for the customer...have fun jumping through hoops and rules on paging a high priority ticket because there is no communication between the different provisioning teams. They seem to promote on who they like and time spent at the company instead of merit. There are level 2 FTE's that know less than a level 1 contractor sometimes. They quote budget reasons for why people are not hired on as full time from contractor while paying out the nose for the contractors.
