Pros
I’ve greatly enjoyed the freedom to improve processes and build something from the ground up, my contributions were always welcomed and often implemented. I appreciate that this job lets me work at the fast pace I want things done in and supports/ rewards me in attempting to get things done. And lastly, I enjoy working with like minded musicians who each bring their own unique experience in a relevant way to our occupations. Our department is stronger because of the unique backgrounds its employee’s bring to the table.
Cons
Some difficulties I experienced included un-defined roles and job architecture which made it difficult to understand my career path. Prior management made it difficult for me to set my expectations correctly which set me up for frustration. Communication is something I also wish to see improve greatly as more often than not, our content isn’t codified and visible leaving many processes taught by rote and not universally understood.
