Pros

Good Discounts on gear.... that's it.

Cons

The distribution center pays very poorly. There are some who have work their buts off for years and still make only $8.50 an hour. Managers work 60hr weeks and make less than $30k a year. Compared to sales the distribution employees are treated like second class citizens. There are no opportunities for pay increases or any encouragement for being an outstanding employee. The Distribution center also severely lacks safety. People use old broker pallets as platforms to get items down, many times heavy items break through. There is no training for forklifts or any equipment, management doesn't care who operates equipment. Management does seem to care about anything. As for Chuck Surack he flaunts his money with his expensive cars and even one took out a $100 bill and ripped it in two as her argued with a employee about pay raises. The company has poor values and business ethics. Even with the discounts they are paid so little that employees can't afford anything. Also they sell people demos all the time as "new" items. And odds are your next order will be wrong or broken.

Pros

Remote Opportunities (but only 2 WFH days a week) Wholesale on products for yourself (and your dependents, depending on the companies mood)

Cons

You will assuredly be paid less then market pay. Remote Opportunities is only two days a week, unless you can land a full time remote position, but don't expect that if you live within a three hour commute, you'll be expected to commute. One Team, One Mission, but don't expect the two IT teams to actually get along.

Not as shiny on the inside

Pros

Gear perks, good people as clients

Cons

Company is about $$ and the bottom line. Long hours, corporate treatment, and non genuine thanks for working hard, if any at all. Mandatory meetings unpaid- due to being on commission but penalized if late or miss. By the time I left, it was under advisement of my doctor. Sales floor is full of sharks though they claim it's not, and high school drama type of culture.

We're saddened that you obviously didn't have an enjoyable overall experience during your time working with us . Being a Sales Engineer can certainly be challenging at times and requires effort but it also comes with great rewards for those who stick with it - including the 400+ sales engineers who are currently thriving with us. The meetings you mention are intended to provide additional training on how to become an expert, which is a key ingredient in determining the degree of one's success and one of the ways we invest in our sales engineers. In addition, in the small number of situations where we may have a team member who is struggling (sometimes due to external life situations or factors), we offer extensive resources to help support them - including in-house sessions with a certified counselors, free external counseling sessions through our Employee Assistance program, and additional coaching support from our Director of Leadership Development and Personal Growth. We're always committed to helping our team members thrive - and our desire for this goes way beyond measurements of the bottom line. Jeff McDonald, Senior VP of Human Resources
