Pros

Bathrooms, water, indoors. Some nice people.

Cons

It's all about numbers and sales. Tiny town with very little going for it.

We certainly understand that some people may prefer a large metro area to better suit their personal lifestyle - and I wish you nothing but the best in your city. We do, however, have 2000+ employees and their families who are firm believers that Fort Wayne has many very good things going for it. Here is a partial list: In 2020 Fort Wayne was listed as one of the Wall Street Journal's hottest job markets, ranked #1 City in which to Raise a Family by SmartAsset.com, Top 100 Places to Live in 2019 by Money Magazine, Top Places to Move in the US by Reader's Digest, Top 10 Most Affordable Cities for Millenials to Buy a Home by CreditKarma.com, Top 5 Minor League Sports Markets by SportsBusinessDaily, Best Cities for Gen Zers on a Budget by GoBankingRates.com, Top 10 Cities for Quality of Life by NerdWallet.com. Pros

I started working at sweetwater when I was still in college and my manager at the time was amazing and would work with me to make sure I was able to work and continue my education.

Cons

A couple of years later management had changed and they were no longer willing to work with me, which I get they aren't obligated to but I had one semester left it would not have killed anyone for them to work with my schedule. To move into a more "specialized" area I was asked to take a pay cut, I did and when it came time for the yearly review I was told I make too much to receive a decent raise.

Thanks for sharing your experience . While I don't know the specifics of your unique situation, I can assure you that we always make every effort to accommodate schedules whenever possible. Of course, there may be certain roles with less time flexibility than others but that doesn't mean we don't try to make it work when we can. Also, if you ever have concerns with how your career path or reviews are being handled, you are always most welcome to speak with someone on our HR team. We are happy to assist our team members to help ensure their work experience at Sweetwater is a great one. - Jeff Ostermann, Chief People Officer

We an opportunity to build great relationships with some of our favorite musical gear manufacturers in the world. There are many Perks from Sweetwater in the form of amazing benefits and the surrounding area has so much respect for what Sweetwater does for the community that most businesses offer additional discounts for any Sweetwater employee. Cons

Not a "Con", but it would be nice to have a service that's sole purpose was to help new staff and their families moving to the area to find safe, comfortable short term and long term housing nearby that offer perks and discounts, since people seem to be drawn to Sweetwater from all over.
