Pros

Sweetwater boasts a lot of great amenities, with a nice gym for employees and an excellent campus. The employees are some of the best people you will meet in one building.

Cons

It’s next to impossible to move up in the company without the ever-coveted “gear knowledge”; ie- experience with music instruments and live sound equipment. That isn’t surprising, given the nature of a lot of the work that is done at Sweetwater. What IS surprising is the amount of time and effort put into the extensive “Sweetwater University” training for incoming Sales Engineers who already possess some level of music industry experience, but that same training experience is walled off to current employees who want to move up and add more value to the company in a capacity outside of selling retail.

We are somewhat confused by this review, given that a significant number (about a dozen) employees in the Sales Assistant role have been promoted to the Sales Engineer role and therefore enrolled in Sweetwater University training over the past few years.

Pros

Great opportunity, meet industry idols, make dreams come true for others, nearly unlimited earning potential, great company culture, friendly staff and management, tons of fringe perks. It's a pretty dream job... just be realistic that it is a JOB.

Cons

It snows in Fort Wayne....

Pros

Beyond ethical treatment of both employees AND customers... Actually CARING treatment. A constantly innovative approach, and very careful steps for growth have lead to astounding success, and there are assurances in place that the business model that has lead to Sweetwater's success will be in place for many many years to come. This company treats it's employees as family members, in the best sense.

Cons

When you come to work here, be prepared to be pushed to the limits of your abilities constantly. (Not sure if this is a bad thing, but if you are lazy, or prone to trying to game the system, look elsewhere.)
