Almost everything else... pay SUCKS, too much time not moving, if you leave Swift for any negative reason; they will have you "Black-listed" with any other company you try to apply with. the list of negatives about this company is too long for me to list here... Just stay away!

Pros

easy to get on and gain experience with as a carrier. I would recommend only as a last resort and need a job asap.

Cons

Swift Trans is a stickler for their "speed limit" of 62 mph. LOW PAY!!! They start their drivers with no experience off at 25 cents per mile.

I was on Target Dedicated and made good money. I was home 4-5 nights per week, if I chose.

Cons

Washed up drivers take pay cuts to become driver managers (dispatchers) and they are as bad, or worse at that as they were driving. They like the feel of power and seek every opportunity to make other driver, who are doing well, do worse. I trained for 3 years and they have absolutely no quality control on who they hire from schools. Their own schools run JTPA students through who never intend to get a job. These paid students are extremely disruptive and make it harder for the real students to drive. When I told them a student was a danger to the driving public, they just sent him to another trainer with less scruples.
