It’s great to hear that the trust and autonomy in how work is approached, along with supportive colleagues, made a positive impact. We understand that compensation outcomes can feel different year to year as they reflect a range of factors as part of our broader approach to rewarding employees.

Pros

Own the Way You Work Supportive team Decent Pay/Great benefits Opportunity for Mentorship Job Rotations

Cons

They talk about promotions and it takes 2-3 years to happen, if ever. Very slow to hire & fill open positions Employees with bad attitudes are left unchecked Work load can be extremely heavy. Especially with some team members who don’t carry their weight.

It’s great to see that the flexibility in how work is approached, along with supportive colleagues and strong benefits, made a positive difference. Opportunities like mentorship and internal mobility are also important parts of the experience. We understand that clarity around career paths and managing workload effectively are key, and we continue to refine how we support teams to keep the environment sustainable and rewarding.

Pros

- Good people overall. Intellectual and fun to be around. - Good retirement benefits (401K match) - Many resources for learning and development (if you have the time)

Cons

- Senior management (specifically within Reinsurance Solutions) is lost. They say one thing but can't provide a coherent direction when it comes to strategy. They have the big title but are unhelpful when asked to commit to a strategy. All that is officially committed to is the financial plan for the year. Pick a number that the board likes but don't ask how we'll get there. Not a very helpful "strategy". This is a new initiative for Swiss Re, but that doesn't mean the business should be run with unreasonable expectations. It is demoralizing to try and build a new business unit yet always feel like you're failing because there is little senior management support or lofty goals that few expect will materialize. - Company is disconnected. We have many business units and initiatives yet they don't function as a cohesive unit. Note this is not because people are not collaborative, but more so that the business model and incentives do not reward that collaboration. As mentioned, the people are good and always open to help, but they don't get rewarded for doing so. - Recent reorgs have caused significant confusion and challenges at times. This is the case with any reorg but just noted that it wasn't smooth sailing. - Takes a long time to get integrated into the company as a newcomer. Many people have been here for a long time so it takes a while to feel like you're part of the broader company. - So much opportunity and potential wasted because of general confusion across the board
